Ethiopia Day 3, Korah Day 2

Today was a wonderful day in Korah. The children skipped school so they could spend time with us. They assured us that they were not missing any exams. lol.
Korah is different from what we've been experiencing. We've been visiting orphanages, Korah is a community. A community full of hope. They are happy with what God has blessed them with and here... Moms still want the best for their children. God's love knows no borders.
The children were divided into groups 1,2,3. These groups represented which activity the children did first. They rotated every 45 minutes or so. We had music/worship, arts & crafts, nail painting, and soccer. I had two beautiful children Maize & Noty with me all day. James and the boys had a plethora of children of all ages on them. Wynne did the story of the candy cane with them. that was a great hit. Many children ran home to save their candy canes others quickly opened them... But, you know what? Many children offered them to us! God's love knows no economic situation.
We were taken into the church and watched the children's choir perform. The kids were singing along and getting us involved. Of course we didn't understand the words, but God's love knows no language.
I'm starting to rethink who the poor truly are... being here is blessing me and redefining my heart.
As lunch time neared, the children went to their respective buildings and awaited lunch. Siblings holding their younger family members. The children sat patiently waiting for their food. I have never seen such big smiles to receive meat in their plate. The sheep were such a treat. One little girl, barely able to hold her plate and her baby brother and feed them both tried to hide her big smile. I learned something while helping her feed her brother... He has teeth! They do not have utensils and they don't need them. They use Injera. More about that later.
A young lady who was hanging around with James proposed to Cameron. It was so funny. I think Sydnie got proposed to in Rwanda. Ha! It was a great day in Korah. It was VBS all day long and it was wonderful. God's love knows no race.
I'm so thankful that God brought our family here. I'm learning so much about myself and my relationship with the Lord. It's easy to read it and know it. It's another thing to go out and touch it. God's love is beautiful. His power is untouchable. His grace is enough.
