Be the Movement!

Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20

What do you want to do in your life? As a Christ follower, what do you hope to experience?

I want to be a part of a people who truly believe that God has put His Spirit in us, so that we may share and spread the Gospel for His Kingdom. I want to be a part of his people who daily, lovingly and joyfully, sacrifice their comforts, possessions, and pleasures to live for the treasures in Heaven. I want to be part of the people that have forsaken all ambitions on earth for eternal ambitions of seeing disciples being made throughout all nations... Starting in our homes and moving outward from there. I want to be a part of God's movement, not a part of God's sedentary believers. I want to be a part of a people who don't just call themselves "Christians", but live out Christ likeness. I want to be a part of a people who are making a movement for Christ.

To be a disciple of Jesus means to live under His authority-to surrender every facet of our lives to Him. And if we surrender to His authority, we must pay attention to what He said next: "Therefore go" (28:19) (Follow Me, David Platt)

This kind of movement requires and involves all of us. It requires ALL disciples to make disciples. It requires an action... It requires us to be players in God's story, not just spectators. This kind of movement requires ordinary people sharing and living out the Gospel in extraordinary ways all over the world. In every home, classroom, board room, church, office, and in every street. It requires all people of every race, language, background, and God ordained gift. It requires us in EVERY society in every corner of the planet. It requires all of us.

God has designed this for His church, and disciples of Jesus must not settle for anything less. (Follow Me, Platt)

Can you imagine what would happen if all of God's people were to begin to make disciples prayerfully and humbly? What if each of us decided to be Fishers of Men instead of fishers for (Fill in the blank with anything you "desire")? What if we chose to extend God's grace and glory to people all over the world? Whoa! Can you imagine the true change as we receive His ultimate glory and grace by carrying out what he has called, designed, and gifted us to do.

What about you? What do you want to be a part of? What path will your Mission take?
