Little Town of Bethlehem
"But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times."
Discussion: We teach and discuss what Bethlehem may have looked like during those times. Why did God chose Bethlehem? (This allows us to explore a little some other significant Biblical figures who came from this city), What does a ruler do? Why is Jesus called the ruler?
Activity: Okay, this is one of my favorite activities. I love to get out my circuit machine and let the kids pick the shapes and colors they want to cut out. This activity is a lot of fun and very creative. Using the cut-outs, the children create a cityscape of Bethlehem.
