Research, research, research!

Everyone I've talked with have all said the same thing... research! With so many adoption options, researching the best options for us it vital. My research has been countless hours, sleepless nights, and m-a-n-y correspondences with others who have, are in the process, or also considering their options for adoption. I've talked with social workers, police officers, facilitators, lawyers, parents, friends, family,  and most importantly, GOD!

I still know our son has been selected by the Lord and he is waiting for us to come get him. I know God is in control and running the show. It's crazy to think of how many things you have to consider. We've looked at the following programs/countries. USA-foster care/adoption programs, Serbia, Poland, Russia, and Ukraine. We've looked at options of special needs and healthy/mild correctable issues. We've had to consider ages and single or sibling groups, male or female. We've also had to consider agency or independent, then the good old financing. It seems like we move one step forward and three back, but all the while, trusting that God has a perfect plan and we are growing in our relationships with him.

At times I felt as if I wasn't doing what God called us to do. I've had some moments of "uh-oh!" I think I'm interfering with God's plan... But God wants us to seek wise counsel, he wants us to make informed decisions and fully rely on him through the process and for the outcome. He is preparing us whole-heartily... fundraising letters went out to businesses and will soon hit the doorsteps of friends and family. His will, his time, his children.
